Meet directly with Dr. Workman, a board-certified interventional pain physician with more than 25 years of experience in spinal disc diagnostics and treatment. He is certified for lumbar and cervical Discseel® Procedures, a non-surgical disc treatment.
Theodore Workman, M.D. has more than 25 years of experience in spinal disc therapeutics and diagnostics, and he has practiced medicine in Redding since 1989.
The Discseel® Procedure is a non-surgical, minimally invasive outpatient treatment for chronic back and neck pain caused by damaged or torn spinal discs, known as annular tears.
Tears in a disc's outer layer can let inner material leak out and irritate nearby nerves. A natural biologic called fibrin is injected into the tears to seal them and stimulate healing, with new tissue growing over the following months.
Dr. Workman is certified for both low back (lumbar) and neck (cervical) Discseel® Procedures.
Common conditions include chronic lower back pain, degenerative disc disease, annular tears, herniated discs, sciatica, and leaky disc syndrome. Patients who have had spine surgery and patients who want to avoid it may both be candidates.

Biologic Spine Therapy
2111 Airpark Drive, Redding, CA 96001
At Biologic Spine Therapy, care starts with an accurate diagnosis.
A patient liaison helps you gather what's needed, usually a recent MRI and records from past providers.
Our team reviews your records and imaging, then calls to schedule your consultation.
You'll speak directly with Dr. Workman about your past tests, injections, and any surgeries. You'll be examined and can take as much time as you'd like for questions. Plan for at least 90 minutes. A same-day procedure may be possible.
Every disc in the region is tested for tears, and fibrin is placed into them. The procedure takes about 40 minutes as an outpatient, with mild sedation offered.
You'll rest in recovery for about 30 minutes. Most people have temporarily increased or different symptoms before improving. Activity increases gradually, with follow-up visits to check progress.
Biologic Spine Therapy offers telemedicine (virtual visits) over a secure video platform, and Dr. Workman sees patients by video. Telemedicine visits cost about the same as a traditional office visit. A telemedicine visit is a convenient first step; your Discseel® consultation and procedure take place at our office in Redding.
